Meet Lotta-Liina, one of the most captivating online personalities and story-tellers you'll have the pleasure of following on Instagram. We have to admit that we initially didn't know too much about Lotta (except for the fact that she posts some pretty great outfits) so we were so excited to talk to her and discover more about girl behind the screen. Keep on scrolling as we chat with Lotta about her interest in slow fashion, the best pieces of wisdom she's received from her parents, what her ideal weekend looks like, and what are her favourite Instagram accounts to follow.
Who is Lotta-Liina? Lotta-Liina is my online personality, an overly exaggerated version of my interests in style and capturing a story.
Can you describe your personal style for us? A friend of mine said it best when they described my style as: The radio-head of fashion.
What are the first five things you do in the morning when you wake up? 1.Hit Snooze 2.Hit Snooze again 3.Stretch (only a little and definitely while still lying in bed) 4.Check my emails 5.Check my schedule for the day (I forget things easily so I have a paper back calendar to keep track of things I have going on)
When did you first discover you were interested in fashion? How has it affected your relationship with your clothes? I always liked dressing myself to tell a story, an interest I have in common with my mom so she definitely enabled me on it. I only really realised I wanted to do fashion while on my gap year I was applying for politics and film school, I found myself completely moved by the street style photography movement. One photographers work particularly made me start to use my instagram for fashion specifically, he still inspires me to this day.
How much do you know about slow fashion, and what does the slow fashion movement mean to you? I am very involved with slow fashion and this is definitely always a concern of mine when doing partnerships. I feel that with slow fashion you learn something new everyday, and that being a slow fashion brand doesn’t mean you cannot be iconic. Quite the contrary, for me the slow fashion movement is bringing back art and quality into an industry where influencers and consumers tend to take all the fun out of a garment seconds after it’s debuted.
What does a typical day in the life look like for you? I work about three different jobs (Two of which are freelance and one which is PR) so everyday is always drastically different, so I think the most typical aspect of a day in my life would just be hummus. Lots and lots of hummus… and also probably french fries.
How are you sustainable in your day to day life? I think for me using my social media platform to publicly consume less and consume more smart and being up for discussions with the lovely community I have met there, lets me be sustainable in my everyday life. (Because I was definitely guilty of over consuming by chasing every micro trend that came my way. Something I hope I can help others overcome).
The best pieces of wisdom your parents have bestowed on you? Never go to bed angry - Literally if anyone in our big family (we’re 7 people) had an argument my parents made sure they mediated the situation before we went to sleep. I still think this is super important.

What are your top three favourite cities to travel to? Berlin, Paris, Istanbul
What makes you most excited about your work? That nothing is ever the same, and you meet so many incredible humble and interesting people on the go.
What does your ideal weekend look like? Going to the docks for a swim with great company and listening to music. It’s an amazing way to get to know another person better, and also to extend your own music library.
What’s your favourite social media platform, if any at all? What do you love or hate about social media? I’m pretty much only on Instagram right now (working on getting an online portfolio up and running) I love the community I have connected with and the incredible friends I have made from it, along with the opportunities to work some of my biggest fashion icons. However it is a double edged sword, the hardest part about being on social media is to create beautiful content but simultaneously reminding people that this isn’t real life, and that Lotta-Liina is an extreme character.
What was your first job ever? Right after graduating high school I moved to Dubai to become an Au-Pair.
