Fair Trade

Fair trade isn't just about paying workers fair wages. It's much more than that. In fact, fair trade jobs allow artisans to preserve local crafting and textile traditions while supporting their families and local communities. At the end of the day, the goal of fair trade is to create sustainable employment opportunities that have the potential to help people in the world's most marginalized communities escape poverty while promoting sustainability.

Fair trade is a long term partnership between traders and producers based on transparency and mutual respect. It's about adequate working conditions, better wages, fair terms of trade and local sustainability for artisans and farmers in developing countries. By addressing the injustices of conventional trade (which traditionally discriminates against the weakest and poorest producers), fair trade commerce allows even the most marginalized to improve and exert more control over their lives.
